NAPOLEONVILLE, La. — An investigation by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a St. James woman accused of using a victim’s bank card information to make thousands of dollars in unauthorized purchases over the course of a year.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said 26-year-old Nyeisha Marie Davis of St. James was arrested Friday evening on charges of Identity Theft and Bank Fraud.
The investigation began on January 23, 2026, after a victim reported that her debit card information had been used without her knowledge or permission at multiple fast-food restaurants over a one-year period. Authorities said the fraudulent transactions totaled more than $2,600.
Detectives reviewed financial records and tracked numerous unauthorized transactions. Working with loss prevention and risk management personnel from the fast-food chain, investigators obtained electronic surveillance footage that allegedly identified Davis as the suspect.
Following the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Davis. She was taken into custody in St. James Parish and transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Davis was booked on the following charges:
- Identity Theft
- Bank Fraud
She remains incarcerated with bond set at $60,000.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said the investigation was made possible through cooperation between detectives and the business’s loss prevention team.
