Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Jeremy Lodrigue W/M 51 of Berwick was arrested on September 15,2023 at 12:58 PM for
- BERWICK WARRANT- DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY
On September 15,2023 at approximately 12:58 PM, officers with the Berwick Police Department observed Lodrigue and knew him to have active warrants. Officers made contact with Lodrigue and he was placed under arrest without incident. The warrant stems from an incident in August where Lodrigue and a family member got into a physical altercation. Lodrigue was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the active warrant.
Alejandro Nievas H/M 20 of Morgan City was arrested on September 15,2023 at 2:59 PM for
- ILLEGAL CARRYING OF A WEAPON
- POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON
- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
- POSSESSION OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS BY PERSON UNDER 21
On September 15, 2023 at approximately 2:50 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call of a suspicious person walking with a firearm. A description was given and officers located the subject identified as Nievas. Officers met with Nievas and observed a firearm concealed on his person and was able to verify that he is a convicted felon prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. Nievas was placed under arrest and a further search of his person was done at which time tobacco products and marijuana was located. Nievas was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charges.
Adrian Alexis B/M 28 of Plaquemine was arrested on September 16,2023 at 10:50 PM for
- NO TURN SIGNAL
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED REFUSAL
On September 16,2023 at approximately 10:30 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed to not use a turn signal. Officers made contact with the driver, Alexis and impairment was detected. Alexis refused field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Alexis was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he refused to submit a breath sample. Alexis was booked on the charges of No Turn Signal and Driving While Intoxicated Refusal.
Krystol Watterson W/F 36 of Berwick was arrested on September 17,2023 at 8:37 PM for
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On September 17,2023 at approximately 8:20 PM the Berwick Police Department received calls of a female walking to different residents trying to sell illegal narcotics. Upon arrival in the area, officers located Watterson. While speaking with Watterson, Methamphetamine and synthetic Marijuana was located along with items of drug paraphernalia. Watterson was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked on the above charges.
