This past weekend at the Louisiana Municipal Association’s Conference the City of Franklin received recognition for the State of Louisiana’s 2021 Community Achievement Awards for the rehabilitation of the 3rd floor of City Hall. The Jindal Administration allocated $1.5 million to fund the project along with Capital Outlay funding from State Senator Bret Allain, State Representative Vincent St. Blanc and former State Representative Sam Jones. An area that has been closed for the past 40 years will soon have life.
As the foundation of the project is completed, the city is currently working to complete the museum processes to open the project to the community. The Bayou Teche Political Archive Museum is expected to be another economic development driver to Franklin.
Included is a two minute video used for the submission for the Community Achievement Award.
