MORGAN CITY, La. — August 31, 2026 — A Morgan City man accused of sexually abusing a juvenile and possessing child sexual abuse material has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after entering a guilty plea in the case.
Carrol Clark, 51, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree rape, two counts of pornography involving juveniles when the victim is under the age of 13, and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Clark was sentenced to 35 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
As part of the plea agreement, Clark must also register as a sex offender and agreed to undergo surgical castration administered through the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
The case began in November 2024 after investigators with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crime Unit received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
Investigators determined that Clark had been uploading and downloading the illegal material through the internet.
During the investigation, authorities also determined that Clark had sexual contact with a juvenile girl on multiple occasions inside a residence and had produced explicit photographs and videos involving the child.
Clark was originally arrested in November 2024 following a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
At the time of his original arrest, Clark faced numerous charges, including first-degree rape, indecent behavior with juveniles, production of pornography involving juveniles and multiple counts involving pornography of children under the age of 13.
The charges Clark ultimately pleaded guilty to were part of the plea agreement that resulted in the 35-year prison sentence and surgical-castration requirement.
The 35-year sentence, guilty-plea counts, sex-offender requirement and surgical-castration provision were reported Monday, August 31.
The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office confirms Clark’s original November 2024 arrest and the joint agencies involved in that investigation.
