HOUMA, La. — A Houma woman has been arrested after police say she allegedly used a company-issued credit card to make approximately $37,000 in unauthorized personal purchases.
The Houma Police Department began investigating the case on June 3 after receiving a complaint from a local business. According to police, the business discovered the suspected misuse during an internal audit and reported that an employee may have been using the company credit card for personal expenses.
Investigators identified the employee as Courtney Kern Galliano.
During the investigation, detectives reviewed financial records connected to the business and determined that approximately $37,000 in transactions were allegedly made without authorization.
On August 27, detectives with the Houma Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division located Galliano at her current place of employment and took her into custody without incident.
Galliano was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Correctional Center on a charge of Felony Access Device Fraud. Her bond was set at $50,000.
The charge is an allegation, and Galliano is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
