Chief David Leonard Sr. reports the following arrests beginning from February 7, 2025

Friday February 7, 2025

Joshua Albarado W/M 23 of Cutoff was arrested on February 7, 2025 at 11:15 PM for

POSSESSION OF SCH. I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
ILLEGAL USE OF CDS IN PRESENCE OF MINOR

On February 7, 2025 at approximately 10:40 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed speeding 70 in a 55 MPH zone. Officers met with the driver who was identified as Albarado. While speaking with Albarado, an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted where Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were located. Inside the vehicle at the time was a small child. Albarado was placed under arrest and released on a summons for the above charges.

Saturday February 8, 2025

Devontrae Williams B/M 24 of Franklin was arrested on February 8, 2025 at 6:11 PM for

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER
SMPSO WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR

On February 8, 2025 at approximately 5:55 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed speeding 69 in a 55 MPH zone. Officers met with the driver who was identified as Williams, and a female passenger. During the course of the stop, it was learned that Williams had an active protective order against him from the female passenger. It was also learned that he had an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charges.

Maria Hernandez-Martinez H/F was arrested on February 8, 2025 at 7:45 PM for

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTS

Jorge Silva- Vazquez H/M was arrested on February 8, 2025 at 7:45 PM for

BATTERY OF A DATING PARTNER

On February 8, 2025 at approximately 7:11 PM the Berwick Police Department received a 911 call to a local business in reference to a male subject who bleeding. The caller advised that the male subject and a female arrived at the business in a vehicle after what appeared to have been a disturbance, and that the female took off walking. A description was given to responding officers. Upon arrival Officers met with Silva- Vazquez. Additional officers located the female who was detained pending further investigation. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that Hernandez-Martinez and Silva-Vazquez are in a relationship and got into an altercation where they committed a battery on each other. While speaking with Hernandez-Martinez she was found to be in possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department.

Earl Riley B/M 43 of Biloxi Mississippi was arrested on February 8, 2025 at 8:35 PM for

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)

On February 8, 2025 at approximately 8:16 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed speeding 71 in a 55 MPH zone. Officers met with the driver who was identified as Riley. While speaking with Riley an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted at which time Marijuana was located. Riley was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court.
