Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the swift capture of three individuals, including Shannon Thomas, 27, and two juveniles, suspected of committing a series of vehicle burglaries in Thibodaux. The suspects were arrested on September 3, 2023, within minutes of the alleged crimes.

Deputies were alerted to the burglaries on Thoroughbred Park Drive that morning and soon identified people matching the suspects’ descriptions on nearby California Street. A surveillance video showed the suspects searching through vehicles, and further evidence confirmed their involvement in the burglaries. Remarkably, the arrest occurred less than 30 minutes after the incidents.

Thomas was booked into Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex and faces multiple charges, including five counts of burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. He is currently held on a $330,000 bail.

Meanwhile, the two juveniles have been detained at the Juvenile Justice Facility in Thibodaux and face similar burglary and attempted burglary charges as Thomas.
