Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Courtlin Carter B/M 33 Hwy. 90 West Centerville was arrested on September 10,2022 at 03:38 AM for
- RESISTING AN OFFICER WITH FORCE OR VIOLENCE
- BATTERY OF A POLICE OFFICER
- OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
- POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS HYDROCODONE
On September 10, 2022 at approximately 03:32 AM officers with the Berwick Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after investigating a complaint of suspicious activity. During the course of the stop, Carter was identified as a passenger. At some point, Carter began to forcefully resist officers and committed a battery on an officer. After a brief struggle with Carter, officers were able to place him under arrest. While conducting a search of his person, Carter attempted to discard narcotics which were located by officers and found to be Hydrocodone pills and a quantity of Methamphetamine. Carter was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Battery of a Police Officer, Obstruction of Justice, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, and Possession of Hydrocodone. No bond has been set at this time.
Andrew Hebert B/M 30 Catherine St. Patterson was arrested on September 10,2022 at 10:04 PM for
- SIMPLE CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
On September 10, 2022 at approximately 9:56 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call regarding Hebert damaging a door to a residence on Fourth Street. Officers responded and located Hebert walking. While speaking with Hebert, he admitted to damaging the property. Hebert was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Simple Criminal Damage to Property. Hebert remains incarcerated with a $500.00 bond.
Andrew Hebert B/M 30 Catherine St. Patterson was arrested on September 11, 2022 at 11:02 PM for
- ST. MARY WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR POSSESSION OF SUBOXONE
- ST. MARY WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR SIMPLE CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
- ST. MARY WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR SIMPLE BATTERY/SIMPLE ASSAULT
On September 11, 2022 it was learned that Hebert who was currently incarcerated at the Berwick Jail held active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Hebert was booked on the outstanding failure to appear warrants. No Bond has been set on the warrants at this time.
Lance Ashmore W/M 30 Francis St. Berwick was arrested on September 12, 2022 at 02:12 AM for
- DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY
On September 12, 2022 at approximately 01:38 AM a complaint was received to the Berwick Police Department in reference to Ashmore committing a battery on a female victim. Through the course of the complaint officers gathered statements and spoke with witnesses. Officers made contact with Ashmore and he was subsequently placed under arrest. Ashmore was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Domestic Abuse Battery. No Bond has been set at this time.
