The victim of a pedestrian accident on Highway 90 in Patterson on Thursday night has been identified. On Sunday night, Patterson Police Chief Garret Grogan told KQKI News that the victim had been identified as 29-year-old Raneisha Rahun Turner of Morgan City.
Grogan told KQKI News in a live interview at the scene of Thursday’s accident that the Patterson Police Department received a call at 8:21 p.m. about a female being struck by a vehicle on Highway 90 near St. Peter Street. Officers arrived on the scene about two minutes later and discovered that Turner had been hit by several vehicles. She was pronounced dead at the scene and turned over to the Coroner’s Office of St. Mary Parish.
The Patterson Volunteer Fire Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and Acadian Ambulance also responded to the scene. No other details have been released at this time.
