The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of former Sheriff Errol “Romo” Romero, who served the people of Iberia Parish for 16 years.

Romero served as Sheriff of Iberia Parish from 1980 through 1996, leaving behind a long record of public service and a lasting place in the history of the sheriff’s office and the community.

In announcing his passing, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office extended heartfelt condolences to Romero’s family, friends and loved ones.

Sheriff Tommy Romero and the entire Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office are honoring the former sheriff’s memory and recognizing his years of dedication to Iberia Parish.
