PIERRE PART, La. — A man has been arrested in connection with a December 2025 crash in Assumption Parish that claimed the life of a Pierre Part man.
According to authorities, 35-year-old Bryan Comeaux was driving a commercial box truck on LA 70 in Pierre Part on December 10, 2025, when it collided head-on with a pickup truck near Leonie Street and Veterans Park.
The driver of the pickup, 43-year-old Blake Landry of Pierre Part, was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries. Comeaux suffered serious injuries and was also taken to an out-of-area hospital for treatment.
Authorities say District Attorney Ricky Babin filed a bill of information on September 2 charging Comeaux with negligent homicide and failure to drive on the right side of the road. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued
Assumption Parish deputies traveled to East Baton Rouge Parish on Tuesday, September 15, where Comeaux was taken into custody. He was then transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Comeaux remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
