Two Individuals Charged with Felony Theft

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Kevin Turner, 34, of 236 Cynthia Circle, Reserve, LA and Jonathan Leo Prembrook, 34, of 3142 Antioch Street, Paulina, LA, on felony charges arising from the theft of industrial products from a local business in Labadieville.

On Friday evening, July 5, 2024, deputies were dispatched to a business in the 2500 block of LA 1 in reference to a burglary in progress.

Deputies and detectives responded and located a vehicle registered to Jonathan Leo Prembrook and identified a fence that had been cut in an effort to gain access to the business. Deputies further noted items of significant value had been placed near the cut fenced area.

Deputies were unable to locate anyone at the scene associated with the car.

Deputies learned that at about the same time the investigation was being conducted, two unidentified persons walking near the area reported that their car had been stolen. Those two individuals were detained.

Detectives and deputies were able to secure video footage related to the crime and positively identified Jonathan Leo Prembrook and Kevin Turner as the suspects in the theft. Both Prembrook and Turner were arrested.

A search warrant executed on the suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of marijuana.

Jonathan Leo Prembrook was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

​*Felony Theft
​*Possession of Marijuana

Bond on Prembrook was set at $10,000.

Kevin Turner was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

​*Felony Theft
​*Fugitive Warrant from St. John Parish

Bond on Kevin Turner was set at $10,000 on the theft charges. Upon satisfying charges in Assumption Parish, Kevin Turner will be transferred to the custody of St. John Parish to face charges there.
