Steven Douglas Brinkley, a native of Orlando, Florida and a proud resident of Bayou L’Ourse was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the young age of 54.
An adoring husband and father, Steve’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his loved ones. When not showering them with attention and his own unique dad humor, Steve worked diligently to provide for them as a commercial offshore diver. Steve also proudly served his country in the United States Navy, Petty Officer 2nd Class, on the U.S.S. Briscoe as a hull technician. In his spare time, he loved tinkering on cars and broken but salvageable (in his mind) appliances. He also enjoyed welding and metal casting in his workshop. You knew Steve was in his workshop when you could hear his rock music blasting away. Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children and those who loved him.
Those left to cherish Steve’s wonderful memory is his wife of 25 years, Angela Bull Brinkley; his children, Luke Brinkley and Mary Brinkley; his mother, Evelyn Froisland and his father, Jake; and his brother, David Brinkley and his wife, Brianna. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Brinkley and his grandparents.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 12 noon until time of services at 2:30 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Dismissal will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation or the charity of your choice.
