HOUMA, La. — The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent series of stabbing incidents that left at least four people dead and a juvenile critically injured in Houma.
Sheriff Tim Soignet said deputies initially responded to the 200 block of Ashland Drive, where they found a juvenile suffering from apparent stab wounds.
The juvenile was transported by Acadian Ambulance Service Air Med to an out-of-area hospital and remains in critical condition.
As deputies continued their investigation, multiple deceased victims were discovered inside nearby residences. Authorities have confirmed at least four people were pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the incidents remain under investigation as detectives gather evidence and work to determine what led to the violence.
The investigation remains in its preliminary stages, and no additional information about the victims or a possible suspect has been released.
