A Pierre Part man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attacking deputies responding to a disturbance call on Sunday night.

Dylan Joseph Rivere, 37, of 139 Paul Street, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon.

Deputies were called to a residence in the 100 block of Paul Street in Pierre Part. Upon arrival, they encountered Rivere, who was reportedly hostile and uncooperative. When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Rivere allegedly became confrontational and aggressive, physically striking the officers. At one point, he attempted to disarm a deputy by grabbing at his taser.

Rivere has been charged with two counts of battery of a peace officer, disarming of a peace officer (a crime of violence), and two counts of resisting an officer with force or violence. He also faces a charge of disturbing the peace.

Rivere was treated and released from a local healthcare facility. A deputy was also injured in the altercation and received treatment before being released.

Rivere remains in jail pending a bond hearing.
