The Class 3A State Runner-Up Berwick High School Baseball team was honored by the St. Mary Parish School Board during their monthly meeting Thursday evening. The Panthers reached the state finals in Sulphur last month where they were defeated 5 – 4 by Lutcher in seven innings.
Also at Thursday’s meeting, the school board named the Berwick High School baseball field to “Lud Henry Field” in honor of Assistant Coach Lud Henry. Henry served as a longtime baseball coach at Berwick High School and also held positions at other schools in St. Mary Parish. He continues to coach alongside his son, Berwick High School Head Baseball Coach Seth Henry. Henry also serves as the Mayor Pro-Tem of the Town of Berwick.

1st person in school history be named 1st team All District in Football, Basketball & Baseball
