MORGAN CITY, La. — A Bayou Vista man was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in Morgan City led to the discovery of suspected synthetic cannabinoids, marijuana, and THC resin, according to the Morgan City Police Department.

Police say officers stopped a vehicle on April 23 for improper lane usage and, during the investigation, developed probable cause for a search. Authorities say 20-year-old Logan Hebert was found in possession of a large quantity of narcotics and was taken into custody.

Hebert was booked into the Morgan City Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute synthetic cannabinoids, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and improper lane usage.

Morgan City Police also issued a warning about the growing presence of synthetic cannabinoids, particularly among teens and young adults, noting the substances can be unpredictable and dangerous.

Officials say the department remains committed to addressing illegal narcotics activity and keeping dangerous drugs out of the community.
