Morgan City, LA – Louisiana Main Street is now accepting applications for its Restoration Grant Program, aimed at revitalizing historic commercial buildings within designated Main Street districts.
GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS
Eligible applicants—including commercial property owners and business owners—can apply for funding ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. Projects may focus on interior and/or exterior restoration of historic structures.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 29, 2026
All applications must be submitted by May 29, 2026. Submissions from Morgan City Main Street participants will compete for funding alongside applicants from other Main Street districts across the state.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for funding:
The building must be located within a designated Main Street district
The structure must be at least 50 years old
The property must be used for commercial purposes
Exterior work must be approved by the local historic district commission
All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and receive approval from Louisiana Main Street
