Chief Chad M. Adams announces the arrest of Jason Morales, 52 years of age, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, in connection with an ongoing investigation into an attempted homicide. Morales has been charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
During the evening hours of March 18, 2026, officers with the Morgan City Police Department were dispatched to the area of a local business on Sandra Street in reference to a subject with a weapon.
The investigation revealed that Morales, a former employee who had recently been terminated, returned to the business to retrieve his belongings. The situation escalated, resulting in Morales inflicting life-threatening injuries upon the victim. The victim is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility.
This remains an active investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
