A 39-year-old Centerville man was arrested Wednesday night after a juvenile sexual assault investigation conducted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, Matthew Bryan, 39, of Centerville, Louisiana, was taken into custody on March 4, 2026, at approximately 9:56 p.m. He faces five counts of third-degree rape and five counts of crime against nature.
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division said they received a complaint on March 4 regarding the sexual assault of a juvenile. Authorities reported the alleged incident occurred the previous day, March 3.
During the course of the investigation, Bryan was identified as the suspect. Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence in Centerville and executed the warrant with assistance from narcotics detectives and uniformed patrol deputies to gather evidence connected to the case.
Following the search and investigation, Bryan was located, taken into custody, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Authorities said bail has not yet been set, and the investigation remains ongoing.
