TERREBONNE PARISH – Sheriff Tim Soignet announced that skeletal remains discovered earlier this year on Westwood Drive in Houma have been preliminarily identified, with final confirmation pending DNA testing.
The remains, recovered in May 2025 in the 100 block of Westwood Drive, were analyzed with the assistance of the LSU FACES Laboratory — a specialized forensic anthropology and identification unit. Through their examination, the remains have been preliminarily identified as belonging to Quang T. Le, an Asian male, 72 years of age.
Sheriff Soignet emphasized that while a preliminary match has been made, definitive confirmation will require familial DNA verification. Investigators are now working to locate any relatives of Mr. Le to assist in the final identification process.
> “We are extremely grateful for the expertise and support provided by the LSU FACES Lab,” Sheriff Soignet stated. “Their work continues to be instrumental in helping us bring closure to families of missing individuals. Our mission is to give this person a name and return him to his loved ones.”
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to seek the public’s assistance in identifying or locating potential family members of Quang T. Le. Anyone with information regarding missing persons or possible family connections is urged to contact the TPSO Criminal Investigations Division at (985) 876-2500 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.
Further details will be released as the investigation continues and DNA confirmation results are received.
