TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (November 10, 2025) — Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the re-arrest of a Gray man following an extensive investigation into child cyber crimes conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, in coordination with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
25-year-old Angel Rodas of Gray was taken into custody on November 9, 2025, after detectives uncovered hundreds of additional illegal files during a detailed forensic review of digital evidence previously seized from his residence.
The investigation initially began after SVU detectives received multiple cyber tips through national reporting systems. Through forensic analysis, detectives identified 66 unique files containing child sexual abuse material, depicting victims ranging in age from infants to 12 years old. The evidence indicated the material had been downloaded and viewed on a single computer system.
Following the initial investigation, detectives obtained warrants and arrested Rodas on 66 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released after posting bond.
As the investigation continued, detectives conducted an additional forensic examination of seized evidence, which revealed 392 more videos and photographs showing pre-pubescent children, ages 1 to 13, engaged in sexually explicit acts. Detectives also discovered two videos involving the sexual abuse of animals.
On November 9, detectives again arrested Rodas at his Gray residence. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on:
392 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles
2 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal
Rodas remains jailed on a $775,000 bond set by local judges.
Sheriff Tim Soignet commended his SVU Detectives for their relentless work on this complex and disturbing case.
> “The nature of these crimes underscores our ongoing commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community — our children,” said Sheriff Soignet. “Our detectives continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who exploit or harm children are brought to justice.”
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
