Morgan City police have arrested Rashon Anthony Jones, 20, and a 16-year-old male in connection to a shooting on Apple Street. The authorities received multiple reports of gunfire on July 26, 2023, which led them to find evidence of the shooting and damage to nearby buildings. The investigation identified a juvenile male as the primary suspect, with evidence linking him to the crime.
Further investigation revealed that Jones had allegedly instructed the juvenile to carry out the shooting and provided him with a firearm. The juvenile was arrested based on an active warrant and transferred to a juvenile detention center pending court proceedings.
Jones was later arrested in Larose, LA with the help of Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and transferred to Morgan City Police Department for booking. He is currently being held on bail set at $610,000.
