Assumption Parish Announces Waste Depot Collection Schedule and Guidelines

In Assumption Parish, the updated Waste Depot schedule includes service during the first full week and the third week of each month. Residents living south of La 401, between Napoleonville and Labadieville, as well as Pierre Part, will receive service on Wednesdays. Meanwhile, those residing north of La 401, between Napoleonville and Belle Rose, will be serviced on Thursdays. Each household is allotted a pickup limit of 4 cubic yards.

Residents must ensure that tree limbs and trunks do not exceed 45 pounds in weight (6-8 inches in diameter) and 6 feet in length. Large piles of debris should be avoided, as only the specified yardage will be collected per cycle.

There are several reasons why a residence’s debris may not be picked up by Waste Depot, including placement under power lines or low-hanging trees, proximity to a vacant lot, blocked access by vehicles or objects, excessive distance from the road, or lack of water service.

Items that are not eligible for pickup include auto parts, tires and rims, metal objects (such as metal fencing, tin, or rims), roofing materials, gas/air tanks, household garbage/garbage cans, dead animals, boats, lawnmowers and debris produced by contractors. Furthermore, concrete/asphalt bricks are also prohibited.
