Boutte – On April 12, 2023, around 3:00 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 3127 near I-310 in Boutte. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 32-year-old Donnie Daigle of Napoleonville.
The initial investigation revealed that Daigle was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado south on LA 3127 at the I-310 north exit. For reasons still under investigation, Daigle’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and impacted a guardrail before overturning.
Daigle, who was not restrained at the time of the crash, was ejected from his vehicle. Daigle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Impairment on the part of Daigle is unknown and routine toxicology results are pending.
Buckling up is the most effective way to protect yourself while driving or riding in a vehicle. It can reduce the risk of serious injury or death in the event of a crash, and it takes only seconds to do. Always remember to buckle up before starting your journey, no matter how short the trip may be.
