According to Chitimacha Police Chief Trajan, on August 20, 2024, Officers started an investigation of a stolen vehicle from a Tribal owned business.
Through the investigation, it was learned that on August 19, 2024, Tara Lynn Strother Cook Dick entered the property with Jared Bourque when she drove off in the business’s maintenance vehicle.
Dick and Bourque were later located in possession of the stolen vehicle in Terrebonne Parish after a be on the lookout bulletin was issued to the surrounding areas. A Deputy with Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office observed them at a business. After contact
was made; Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office charged Dick with possession of a Schedule II narcotic and Bourque for possession of drug paraphernalia. Once they are released from Terrebonne Parish Jail, they will be extradited to the Chitimacha Tribal Police
Department for active warrants. Dick has an active warrant for theft of a motor vehicle $5k to $25k (Felony) and Bourque has active warrants for theft of a motor vehicle $5k to $25k (Felony) and principal (felony).
Chitimacha Tribal Police Department would like to thank Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Jeanerette Police Department, and Slidell Police Department for their assistance in the initial stages of the investigation; along with Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office
for the recovery of the vehicle and apprehension of Dick and Bourque.
