Internet Sex Crimes Task Force Arrests Truck Driver
HAMMOND (February 7, 2025)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a truck driver in the latest Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force activity.
Devon Poirier, 33 of St. Martinville, is facing three counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under 13.
Last month, the TPSO Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit began investigating the transmission of video files involving the sexual abuse of an infant being shared through an online chat platform. During the investigation, Poirier, an over-the-road (OTR) truck driver who travels the country, was identified as the source of the transmissions.
He was taken into custody Thursday, February 6, by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office (SMPSO) and is awaiting transport to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. Following the arrest, a search of his truck uncovered more than 30 electronic devices which will be forensically analyzed for evidence.
