St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jennifer Yvette Goss, 42, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 18, 2024, at 9:51 am on a Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for contempt of court. Goss is being held for another agency.
Clinton Gordon, 65, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 18, 2024, at 11:01 am for obcenity. Bail has not been set at this time.
James Vincent Howell II, 19, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 18, 2024, at 6:32 pm on an Assumption Parish warrant for armed robbery-aggravated with weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and possession of a firearm-felon. Bail has not been set at this time.
Paul Joseph Lirette, 31, Raceland, LA, was arrested on January 18, 2024, at 5:04 pm on a parole violation for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On January 18, 2024, Lirette was transported from an agency out of St. Mary Parish for court. After his court appearance, following proper protocol, Lirette was released at approximately 4:30 pm. A short time later, an employee learned that there was a detainer for Lirette from another agency. After verifying the retainer, a patrol deputy made contact with Lirette and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the detainer.
Lirette was transported to another agency.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
