Shirley Louise Besson Wiese passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, January 18, 2021, at her home in Bayou Vista where she was a longtime resident.
Ms. Wiese was born in Centerville on March 10, 1930, the youngest of four children born to Albert and Linda Besson. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing cards, playing bingo, and going to the casino. She had a laugh that was contagious and she especially loved cutting her grass on her riding mower and loving on her dogs Molly and Bunny. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include ten children, Pricilla Topham and her husband Willie, Nancy Whetstone, Gerald Wiese and his wife Cathy, Elizabeth Bucceri and her husband Robert, Penny Daniels and her husband Donald, Cindy Stansbury and her husband Al, Daniel Wiese, Tina Gilmore and her husband Mike, Dianna Francis and her husband Jon, and Shane Wiese and his wife Stephanie; 18 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick (Fred) Wiese; two sons, Fred (Junior) Wiese and David John Wiese; her parents, Albert Milton Besson and Linda Mary Bodin Besson; one brother, Albert Milton Besson Jr.; two sister, Dorothy M. Besson Dover and Joyce R. Besson Simoneaux; and two grandsons, Mike Gilmore Jr. and Shane Lacoste.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. in the Franklin Cemetery. Rev. Matt Jackson, her grandson-in-law, will officiate the service. A brief gathering time will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the cemetery.
