On September 19, 2023, around 9:55 pm, a pedestrian-vehicle collision occurred on the 1000 block of Grand Caillou Rd. The Houma Police Department arrived at the scene to discover a 23-year-old Hispanic male, Axel Ulloa, with fatal injuries. Ulloa was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations disclosed that Ulloa had been crossing the road when a light-colored, full-sized truck hit him while speeding southbound on Grand Caillou Rd. The driver fled and did not return to the site of the accident.
