Five Dead in Overnight House Fire in Houma Area

UPDATE: State Fire Marshal Chief Bryan J Adams sadly announced that the five victims from this Saturday morning’s fatal fire in the Houma area include three adults, a teenager and a toddler. The surviving victim is a teenager. The cause remains under investigation.

UPDATE: Louisiana State Fire Marshal Bryan J Adams announced in a Saturday afternoon press conference that a total of an overnight fire in the Bayou Blue area, near Houma, in Lafourche Parish claimed the lives of five victims. One occupant of the home escaped and survived the blaze. Investigators with the State Fire Marshals remain on scene to determine of the cause of the fire. ORIGINAL: Louisiana State Fire Marshal deputies are currently working alongside the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department to investigate in what they described a devastating house fire in the Houma area involving multiple deaths.

The fire department received the call Saturday morning at approximately 3:45 am in the 300 block of Louise Lane.

This investigation is active and ongoing. State Fire Marshal Chief Bryan J Adams asks the community to keep all involved in their prayers today.
