RACELAND, La. — Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrests of three men following an investigation into a violent home invasion and shooting that occurred in Raceland last month.
Arrested in the case are Juwan Vedol, 27, of Raceland; Justin Lawson, 46, of Matthews; and Austin Barlow, 24, of Houma. All three face multiple felony charges stemming from the June 23, 2026 incident.
According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Mitchell Road during the early morning hours after receiving reports that two masked men armed with handguns forced their way into a home occupied by two friends. A confrontation inside the residence led to gunfire, leaving one victim seriously injured. The victim has since been released from the hospital.
Detectives say their investigation, which included the review of phone records, digital evidence, physical evidence, and witness statements, identified Vedol, Lawson, and Barlow as being involved in the incident.
Investigators determined that Vedol and Lawson allegedly traveled to the residence and carried out the home invasion during which the victim was shot. Authorities also allege that Barlow helped facilitate the events by coordinating an illegal narcotics transaction with Vedol prior to the incident.
Search warrants executed at the suspects’ residences led to the discovery of additional evidence and illegal narcotics.

- Principal to Attempted Second Degree Murder
