It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Kay Liles, who left this world on April 4, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on January 20, 1948, in Belding, Michigan, she made her home in Morgan City, Louisiana.

Mary (aka Maw Maw) was known for her warm spirit and her heartfelt creations, particularly the beautiful blankets she lovingly made for her family and friends. An avid gardener, Mary Kay found immense joy in nurturing her plants and creating beautiful spaces. She taught her grandson’s how to show joy and love of sharing the roses she planted. They enjoyed giving them to their teachers and moms. Her passion for gardening reflected her nurturing nature and her deep love for life, which she shared with her family and friends. She also derived great joy from nature, particularly in her passion for watching hummingbirds play, a simple pleasure that reflected her appreciation for life’s small wonders.

Mary Kay will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit. She will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mary Kay was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loving great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn and husband Gregory (Grobeck) Gros, her grandchildren, Brandon and Erin Fernandez, Austin and Carlie Ratcliff, Cole Gros, and Jessica and Stephen Leger; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jessa Guidroz, Zoey Fernandez, Sutton Fernandez, Preslie Ratcliff, Brenlie Leger, and Aleya Leger. Her love for her family was evident in the many cherished memories they created together, particularly during family gatherings that brought joy and connection to her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna Jackson; one daughter, Brenda Ratcliff; one brother, Gerald Jackson and one sister, Doris Dreger.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM to 1:00pm, as family and friends gather to honor and celebrate her life.
