Clarence Delaune, Owner of Lisa’s Poboys, Passes Away

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Joseph Delaune, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Known affectionately as Mr. C, Clarence was born on February 13, 1929, in Labadieville, Louisiana, and peacefully departed from this world on September 28, 2024, at his residence in Morgan City, Louisiana at the age of 95.

Clarence was a man of many talents and a dedicated entrepreneur, having owned and operated Lisa’s po’boys. His legacy extends beyond his successful food industry business to the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Julie Fields Delaune, his cherished children, Angela Cabrera and husband Ray, and Kathryn Alvarenga and husband Jose, his adored brother Edward Delaune, and his dear sister Velda Collins. Clarence was also a loving grandfather to Rachel Herrington, and Sofia Alvarenga, as well as a revered great-grandfather to Evie Herrington and Emery Herrington. Clarence also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Villie and Marie Delaune and his eight brothers and sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
