Funeral services celebrating the life of Leroy Walker will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Bayou Vista Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Following the service Leroy will be laid to rest in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Eric Green will conduct the services.

Visitation will be held at the church on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again Tuesday morning from 8:00 AM until time of services.

Leroy was born on November 16, 1953 in Belzoni, MS and was the second of three children born to the union of William and Donna Walker. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the age of 69, just a day shy of his 70th birthday.

He worked the majority of his adult life as a heavy equipment operator, a job which he loved as it brought him to various places giving him the opportunity to meet many folks from all walks of life. He certainly never met a stranger and shared his time and talent with anyone in need of a helping hand. He was passionate about classic muscle cars and loved spending time at auto salvage yards.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 25 years, Brenda Hebert Walker; two sons, Billy Walker and his wife Tina and Brian Walker-Vice and his husband Michael; two bonus children, Amanda Bernadou and Justin Bernadou; 13 grandchildren, Blake Walker, Camryn Walker, Ryan Walker, Kaci Walker, Bailey Walker, Clay Walker-Vice, Derrick Walker-Vice, Trey Bernadou, Charlie Kelly III, Alexis Bernadou, Landon Bernadou, Logan Bernadou, and Jordyn Bernadou; three great grandchildren, Kalem Holquin, Rosealee Thomas, and Liana Kelly; one brother, Tommy Walker and his companion Jill; one sister, Patricia W. Poche and her husband Norris; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Proctor Walker and Donna Clemons Walker; and a daughter-in-law, Jada Bernadou.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ryan Walker, Bailey Walker, Clay Walker-Vice, Derrick Walker-Vice, Trey Bernadou, Charlie Kelly III, and Landon Bernadou.

Leroy’s family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Sheila and Yolanda, Pastors Ronnie Mabile and Eric Green, as well as the church families of Redeemed Life and Bayou Vista Baptist Church.
