It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Henry Written Jr. (Dickie). John was born on May 24, 1937, in Morgan City, Louisiana, and peacefully departed from this world on June 26, 2024.
John was known for his love of tinkering with anything mechanical, always eager to take things apart just to put them back together. His passion for fixing things and working with his hands brought him joy and fulfilled his inquisitive spirit.
John was a man who found joy in the pages of science fiction novels and the adventures on screen. Mr. Written was a kind and caring individual who dedicated his life to helping others and was revered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
John’s memory will forever be treasured by his surviving daughter Angel Tisdale and husband Randy, son Dickie Windham and husband Timothy, grandchildren Heather Gaudet Chiasson and Matthew Gaudet, great-grandchildren Peyton, Anothy, Jayden, Noah Chiasson, and Anastasia Gaudet, as well as his brother-in-law Nelson Cortez and sister-in-law Madge Comeaux.
John was preceded in death by his parents Irma and John Written and his wife Earlray written.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., and then again Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00a.m.
