A Gray man was arrested after deputies say he pointed a rifle toward a group of adults and children during a dispute over money in Terrebonne Parish.
According to Sheriff Tim Soignet, deputies responded to the 4200 block of Bonnie Blue Drive on Sunday, September 20. Witnesses told investigators that Kerry Lee Thibodaux, 36, argued with another man, went to his nearby home, returned with what appeared to be a rifle and threatened to kill one of the adults. Several children were outside in the direction the rifle was allegedly pointed.
Deputies took Thibodaux into custody at his home in the 500 block of Marietta Place. The Sheriff’s Office says he admitted possessing a firearm and pointing it in the general direction of the neighboring residence. Deputies later obtained a search warrant and recovered a rifle from the home.
Thibodaux was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on seven counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remained jailed on a $150,000 bond as of the Sheriff’s Office’s September 22 release.
