Doris Ann Burris, 64, a resident of Morgan City, LA and native of Franklin, LA, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 24, 2022 at 5:55 AM at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, LA.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the New Zorah Baptist Church 604 Julia Street Morgan City, LA, from 9:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). The Reverend Terry L. Joseph, Sr. will officiate the services. Burial will follow funeral services in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City.
Memories of Doris will forever remain in the hearts of her siblings, Birdella Jones of Berwick, LA, Henry Burris of Franklin, LA, William Burris of Patterson, LA, Chester (Sandra) Burris of Baton Rouge, LA, and Brenda (Larry) Green of Franklin, LA; godchild, Ja’ Leia Colar of Patterson, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Burris and Louise White Burris and four sisters, Gertie McDaniel, Betty Brooks, Arthur Jean Hamilton and Sedonia Lightfoot.
