Carolyn Ann Clausen passed away peacefully, though unexpectedly, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home in Franklin.

Carolyn was born in New Iberia on February 15, 1952 and was the eldest of two children born to John George Broussard and Anna “Annie” Bavar Broussard. Giving way to her creative nature, Carolyn had a talent for sewing and crocheting, working for many years as a seamstress. She was also a fabulous cook. Her favorite color was purple, her favorite flowers were roses, and she was a lover of skunks, collecting any and all things related to skunks, including having a pet skunk. Many will also remember Carolyn from her many years of delivering the Banner-Tribune newspaper, which she did until her health started to fail. In her recent years she found solace in simply sitting on the wharf at her son’s house, enjoying the beauty of nature. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes great comfort in knowing she is at peace.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her husband of 24 ½ years, Eddie Clausen; her son, John B. Domingue and his wife Lorrie; her daughter, Julie M. Domingue; three step-children, Cherie Dinaso, Jocelyn Boudreaux, and Jeanne Marie Burns; 18 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as by her brother.

A gathering of family and friends was held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, following she will be cremated.

Family and friends are invited to share their memories and condolences with the family by visiting her memorial page at www.iberts.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA 70538, (337) 828-5426.
