Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Lennis Paray Jr. 37 yoa. of Fourth St. Berwick, was arrested on Friday May 13, 2022 at 9:11 a.m. for
- VIOLATIONS OF PROTECTIVE ORDER
On Friday May 13, 2022 at approx. 9:00 a.m. Officers were notified that Lennis “Duke” Paray was observed at a residence in which he was not supposed to be at due to an active protective order against him. Officers arrived on scene minutes later and observed Paray to be sleeping on the back patio of the residence. Officers immediately took Paray into custody without incident. Paray was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Jail where he was booked on the said charges. He was later transferred to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to be housed.
Theodore Harris 35 yoa. of Morgan City, was arrested on Sunday May 15, 2022 at 6:54 p.m. for
- THEFT (Under $1,000.00) (Berwick P.D. warrant)
On Sunday May 15, 2022 at approx. 6:49 p.m., Berwick Police received a call from an off duty employee of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s who stated that he observed Theodore Harris walking east on U.S. Hwy 90. It was stated that, Harris had an outstanding warrant or his arrest through Berwick P.D. Officers arrived in the area and located Harris and placed him under arrest without incident. Harris was then transported to Berwick Jail where he was booked on the charges and remains incarcerated. The warrant stems from an investigation that began on April 18, 2022 in which a charity donation jar was stolen from the counter at a local business. Harris was developed as a suspect after viewing surveillance cameras at the location. A warrant was later prepared for his arrest.
