The Franklin Police Department responded to 23 complaints over the past weekend and made the following arrests:
Jaquan Verrett, 23, of Tenth St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 13, 2022, at 11:57 AM, on the charge of domestic abuse battery by strangulation. Verrett was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Breana Smith, 19, of South Penn Rd., Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 13, 2022, at 11:59 AM, on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Smith was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000.00 bond.
Gary Jones, 54, of Ibert St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 13, 2022, at 6:34 PM on the charges of resisting an officer by flight, criminal trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was additionally charged with a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear for the charge of theft. Jones was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at time of press release.
Sylvester Coleman, 20, of Main St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 15, 2022, at 12:59 AM, on the charges of resisting an officer -2 counts, remaining where forbidden, and disturbing the peace by intoxication. Coleman was booked, processed, and held on a $6,500.00 bond.
