Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the arrest of 37-year-old Deshown Burdis of Napoleonville following multiple violations of a protective order. Deputies responded to a complaint on Violet Street where the complainant informed them of the ongoing violations by Burdis. After securing arrest warrants, deputies located Burdis on Wednesday morning. During the arrest attempt, Burdis violently resisted and assaulted a deputy. He was subsequently booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of violation of a protective order, resisting arrest by force or violence, and battery of a police officer. Burdis remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
