BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of an 18-year-old Vacherie man in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries reported in the Belle Rose area earlier this week.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies and detectives responded on February 26, 2026, to multiple complaints involving vehicle break-ins in the vicinity of LA 1 and Virginia Street. Authorities say five separate vehicles were burglarized in the area south of Belle Rose on or about February 25, 2026.

Following the complaints, detectives launched an investigation and reviewed surveillance video from the area. Through that investigation, Darius Anthony Lassere, 18, of Vacherie, was identified as a suspect.

Detectives secured arrest warrants, and Lassere was later located near Labadieville and taken into custody without incident.

Lassere was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on five counts of Simple Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

He remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
