An investigation is underway following an altercation at the conclusion of a boys’ soccer match between Bossier High School and Morgan City High School.
According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, a fight broke out on the field involving multiple students from both teams after the close matchup ended Wednesday evening.
During the altercation, authorities say Micah Wilkerson, a student at Morgan City High School, allegedly struck and injured a Bossier High School player.
Wilkerson was arrested and charged with second-degree battery. He was taken into custody by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the St. Mary Parish jail.
Officials say he is being held on a $10,000 bond. Deputies with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office are expected to take custody of Wilkerson as he prepares to face charges related to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
