A joint investigation by the Franklin Fire Department, Franklin Police Department, and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has identified a suspect in a house fire that happened Saturday night, December 27, 2025, on Robert Street in Franklin.
Authorities say Jrevon Anderson is wanted in connection with the fire and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder on three counts and aggravated arson.
Fire crews were called to the 600 block of Robert Street around 11:21 pm after reports of a vehicle on fire near a home. Firefighters arrived within minutes and found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to two nearby houses. Crews quickly brought the fire under control within about 15 minutes.
Investigators later determined the fire was intentionally set. The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to rescue several family pets from the homes. The Red Cross is assisting two families who were displaced by the fire.
A total of three fire engines, one service truck, and 13 firefighters responded to the scene. Franklin Fire Chief Bourgeois reminded residents to make sure smoke alarms are working and to never re-enter a home once safely out during a fire. He also thanked Centerville Fire, the Franklin Police Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance, CLECO, and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office for their assistance.
