Bayou Bend Fitness Center and local firefighters recently honored the memory of first responders who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Local firefighters walked in full gear as a remembrance of the first responders who passed on and after 9/11. Members of Bayou Bend Fitness Center also took part in t 9/11 Challenge by using the fitness equipment. The goal was to climb 110 floors on the fitness center’s stair climbers, the same amount of floors of the Twin Towers, or walk roughly 2,220 feet, which is the equivalent of 110 stories.
Fitness Center officials said they will be honoring the firefighters again next year on their new outdoor track and they hope to grow the event event further.
