Next week, members of St. Mary Chamber of Commerce will travel to Washington D.C. to join chambers of commerce, industry leaders, business associations, and economic development groups from across the Bayou Region for a “Washington D.C. Fly-In” to meet with Louisiana Senators and Congressional Delegation and representatives with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Representing St. Mary Parish are Brady Borel, Chairman, St. Mary Chamber of Commerce and KQKI Sales Manager and News Correspondent; Beth Chiasson, President, St. Mary Chamber of Commerce; J.P. Henry, Chamber Board Member and Assistant Chief of Police, Berwick Police Department and Evan Boudreaux, Board Member & St. Mary Parish Economic Development Director. Borel will also make presentations to the Congressional Delegation on behalf of the Port of Morgan City.
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, chamber officials said they are advocating for the priorities that matter most to local businesses, communities, and the way of life “down here in the bottom of The Boot.” The chamber thanked AIC: Atchafalaya Intracoastal Coalition for sponsoring the welcome social which will kick off the Washington D.C. Fly-in of advocacy in the nation’s capital.
