The Port of Morgan City was featured this week in a journal article out of St. Louis, Missouri.
The Waterways Journal Weekly is a publication servicing the maritime industry and serves an audience that operates more than 25,000 barges and more than 3,800 towboats, dredges, material handlers, and more.
On Feb 2, the Port of Morgan City was featured in an article entitled, “Innovative Dredge Allows Port of Morgan City to Thrive.”
The article focuses on a first-of-its-kind vessel called the “Arulaq”, that makes dredging the Atchafalaya Bar Channel easier to do.
The Atchafalaya Bar is the final 13-mile offshore stretch of the Port of Morgan City’s navigation channel.
