Sheriff Craig Webre of Lafourche Parish reported the arrest of Darius Walter, 20, from Thibodaux, following a gunpoint robbery linked to a Facebook ad. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect.

On July 28, 2023, at 4:20 p.m., deputies investigated an armed robbery in the Thibodaux region. A man and woman had visited Lindsey Street after seeing a trailer for sale on Facebook. Once they entered the trailer to inspect it, a masked man held them up at gunpoint and stole a significant sum of money and two cell phones. The victims managed to escape and seek help.

Deputies later received reports of two men fitting the suspects’ description on Brule Guillot Road in Thibodaux. Officers apprehended one of them, identified as Darius Walter. However, the second suspect remains at large.

Walter is currently held at Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on two counts of armed robbery with a firearm. Bail is yet to be determined.
