On May 10th, 2022, Specialists with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Acura driven by Cameron Morris of New Orleans (male, 20 years old) based on several traffic violations. During the course of their investigation, Specialists had probable cause to search the vehicle. As a result of their search, Specialists recovered two glass jars, two freezer bags, and thirty-five zip-lock bags all containing varying amounts of marijuana; totaling 4.1lbs.
IPSO Specialists also recovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia, as well as a Smith and Wesson SD9 handgun with partially obliterated serial numbers.
Cameron Morris was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the following charges:

LA RS 14:95E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a
controlled substance
LA RS 40:1023C Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
LA RS 14:95.7 Posses of a firearm with Obliterated Number
Bond has been set at $225,500.00
